Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy

Ultrasound guided foam sclerotherapy is a technique used to treat moderate sized varicose veins. Using ultrasound-guidance, veins are visualized beneath the skin while a very small needle injects medicine into the  vein. The injection causes the vein wall to become sticky and collapse resulting in closure of the vein. The  procedure typically takes less than 30 minutes and requires no  anesthesia. Compression stockings need to be worn during the day for one week following the procedure.
